Description: Students will immerse themselves in a week of art in multiple disciplines. While this camp is available for ages 7-15, students will be grouped by age to receive instruction appropriately scaled to their skills in the areas of music, visual arts, improvisational theatre, and more. Seven Peaks’ own Clayton Pearce and Nic Davies will be teaching at this camp. Additionally, Amanda Boekelhide will join our Balanced Artist Camps for both weeks. Currently working in Brooklyn, Amanda's educational background includes a BA in theatre from Pitzer College in LA & Marymount College in London, then continued study in physical theatre at L'ecole de Mime Corporeal Dramatique. She earned an MFA in Acting from Columbia University, studied on grants in China, Poland, & Indonesia, & had the fortune to reside at the International House, Green Gulch, & Hall Farm.
As one of the founding members of Liminal Performance Group, she taught & performed for several decades in PDX, winning awards for movement & ensemble acting. She enjoys continued involvement with Liminal and other groups’ projects, & often returns to the west coast to perform or consult.
In 2019, the press Scientists & Poets published Eugene & Company, her first collection of poems. Subsequent books Moving Darker, & Bending were published in 2020.
This camp is all about building skills and process without the pressure of a final performance to end the week.
